Weekly Matchbook – 3 Items to Ignite Your Business

Week of February 26 – March 3

A Matchbox

Everyone needs some good advice every once in a while, or a nudge to get them going again. Perhaps some proverbial fire under a stagnant situation. Here’s my periodical nudge, called the “Weekly Matchbook“.

INSTRUCTIONS: Use the Matchbook to spark ideas; a small set of kindling that can provide some heat when you need it. (All underlined material is actionable. Click to your heart’s content.)

Here’s this week’s Matchbook:

1. Using Foursquare to Drive Repeat Business – by Stephanie Miles

Local-based marketing is becoming ever-more important in gaining market share in a crowded market space. Foursquare is a wonderful tool that can help businesses impact their local market with incentives and one-to-one communication. Repeat business is key for any company that wants to increase sales, let alone survive.

2. How to Not Be Hated for Your Email Marketing – by Peter Shankman

A great article by Peter Shankman on four basic keys to doing email marketing the right way, which can be an excellent way to cultivate relationships with those who opt-in to wanting more from you, your brand, your company, etc.

3. 5 Questions Every Customer Asks – by Geoffrey James

Geoffrey James, one of my favorite authors on Inc.com, explains the thought process every customer consciously or subconsciously goes through when deciding to purchase your product/service. It’s not enough to know the process, but you must answer its inherent questions in order if you want to seal the deal.
